Happy New Year. I , for one, am looking forward to a creative 2019 . Last year saw my soft pastel work moving more towards a more abstract style – the use of colour being the most exciting part of what I do. Very inspired by our new garden I am hopeful of finding constant inspiration for my paintings. Even today, cold and grey as it is, there are flowers trying to make themselves known – cyclamen, a rose bud, even a daisy. And the Clematis Tangutica has been a spectacle all summer and now all of the winter with its hundreds of ‘old man’s beards’.
Having not been able to paint much for the last month I wanted to kick off 2019 with some colour and something entirely abstract. So far so good , way to go but I am loving the colour.
